Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Leak Reveals Skirmish and Overload Multiplayer Modes Ahead of Official Launch

A major leak has revealed two brand-new multiplayer modes for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, sparking excitement among fans ahead of its official reveal later this summer. The leaked details, shared on the Call of Duty app, include screenshots and gameplay descriptions of the new Skirmish and Overload modes — signaling bold innovations in the franchise's online experience.
What’s New in Black Ops 7 Multiplayer?
The leak, first reported by trusted Call of Duty news portal CharlieIntel on X (formerly Twitter), appears to stem from an internal developer message that was accidentally published to the public on Xbox via the Call of Duty app.
According to the screenshots, Skirmish is a large-scale 20v20 wingsuit-enabled mode where two teams complete objectives across expansive maps. Players must capture points, destroy enemy payloads, and transmit data while navigating the battlefield using wingsuits — adding a dynamic vertical gameplay element.
Overload, on the other hand, offers a more tactical 6v6 format. Here, teams compete to gain control of a neutral EMP device, which must be delivered to the enemy headquarters to earn points. The mode promises high-stakes strategy and fast-paced combat in more confined arenas.
Official Details Yet to Be Confirmed
Although Activision has yet to officially unveil all multiplayer features, it has confirmed that Black Ops 7 will include a co-op campaign, signature multiplayer maps, and the return of the beloved Zombies mode. The game is being developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, and is the first consecutive Black Ops sequel, following the storyline decades after Black Ops 2.
The full reveal is expected in the coming weeks, with the title launching later this year on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
